What a weird coincidence with the majority of the overall top teams/winning teams of Summer Circuit across regions doing so poorly in the first Autumn tournament. I wonder why this is? Did the top team get too comfortable?
Yeah, I've only got hunches, but it must have something to do with high expectations for these teams. If you have something to lose, teams might tend to play too conservatively, not take risky fights, etc. And on the other side, teams with nothing to lose benefit from top teams behaving that way—confident pushes and hard sending is rewarded against passive teams playing for high placements. That's my best guess, and it's definitely related to what you're saying about good teams being too comfortable. While I was watching Snipe's stream I saw TSM get deleted by a team who walked up on them from behind, and they were wide open, totally complacent and caught off-guard.
